I’m a huge fan of Shiseido’s color cosmetics, but their skincare? Usually a pass for me—most of it is overpriced and, frankly, mediocre. BUT not this cream. Even though you could nitpick the ingredients, who cares about the “how” when the results are this good? But let’s look at the formula anyway…
What’s inside Shiseido Benefiance eye cream?
The bulk of the product is a blend of rich emollients, synthetic oils (don’t worry, they’re safe!), squalane, and waxes (including beeswax). This kind of base acts like a shield, locking in and accumulating moisture while protecting the skin from dryness and providing deep nourishment.
But the real magic is how the active stimulating components are “woven” into this base. Since the cream gives such a visible effect, it’s clear they used the right forms, the right purity, and the right percentages.
We’re talking about:
- Glutamic Acid: boosts collagen synthesis, firms, and hydrates.
- Carnosine: protects collagen and elastin from degradation.
- Hydroxyproline & Anti-aging Peptides: improve the elasticity of connective tissue fibers and ramp up collagen production.
- The Power Mix: Caffeine, Vitamin E, Sodium PCA, and Hyaluronic Acid.

The cream is very dense—thick, buttery, and balmy. It melts beautifully on the fingertips. I take a tiny amount and apply it using PRESSING motions (never tug or stretch the skin!).
Pro-tip: Leave a little space near the lash line. The cream will naturally migrate a bit to cover that zone; if you apply it right up to the lashes, it might seep into your eyes, which you definitely want to avoid.
I use it morning and night (but at least an hour before bed, otherwise you might wake up with puffiness!).
